Systems Engineer (TS/SCI + Poly)

McLean, VA

Description

The DarkStar Group is seeking a Systems Engineer with a TS/SCI + Poly clearance (applicable to this customer) to join one of our top projects in McLean, VA.  Below is an overview of the project, as well as information on our company, our benefits, and our $25,000 referral program.

THE PROGRAM

THE PROJECT
The Sponsor is responsible for sensitive cross-cutting projects to further national security objectives. The Contractor will support the hardware, software, networks and systems underpinning the operations, maintenance, development, upgrade and security of a Sponsor system in a team environment to enable the Sponsor’s critical mission. This effort focuses on the data architecture, software engineering and development of system tools and capabilities. Priorities and tasking will be managed by the GTM with input from the Sponsor’s Front Office.

THE ROLE

  • The Contractor shall support all elements of the Sponsor’s system, comprised of commercial off the shelf (COTS) products and software, along with several customized tools and applications.
  • The Contractor shall provide the Sponsor a modern and stable platform which meets security requirements and enables users to search, discover, prioritize, analyze, collaborate and manage information.
  • The Contractor shall support enhancement efforts and develop new capabilities for Sponsor’s use to meet mission needs.
  • The Contractor shall integrate a large and changing number of datasets from a variety of cloud-based and other systems.
  • The Contractor shall maintain system uptime, stability, and accreditation requirements.
  • The Contractor shall work closely with Sponsor staff and contractor personnel, as well as external vendors and stakeholders (including development of technical equipment specifications and vendor quotations); communicating and collaborating effectively across organizational boundaries.
  • The Contractor shall identify issues or dependencies to Sponsor staff and work to resolve them as prioritized by the Government Task Manager with input from Sponsor’s Front Office.
  • The Contractor shall maximize the security of the system by protecting Sponsor data and ensuring security best practices, including those defined by the Sponsor, are followed.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated experience with security-controlled systems, software, and data architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience with Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes to accredit security-controlled systems.
  • Demonstrated experience as a data transfer officer with security-controlled systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with Amazon Web Services Cloud Engineering, Development and Administration.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, building, and maintaining data intensive applications and architecture.
  • Demonstrated software development experience, including C#, C++, Python, and other system and application programming languages.
  • Demonstrated experience with designing, developing, and maintaining web applications utilizing Javascript, Javascript frameworks (such as React, VueJs or Angular), HTML5, CSS and CSS frameworks (such as Bootstrap or Tailwind).
  • Demonstrated experience with development technologies including Git, Gitlab, and Docker supporting continuous integration and delivery of web applications and microservices.
  • Demonstrated software scripting experience, including Python, BASH and PowerShell.
  • Demonstrated database programming experience, to include Oracle and Microsoft SQL, PL/SQL scripts, and vendor APIs and XML and JSON data formats for Oracle Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining complex web services for Linux and Windows servers.
  • Demonstrated Experience with Lotus Notes software development including C/C++ APIs.
  • Demonstrated experience with certificate management for users, servers and anonymous services.
  • Demonstrated experience with Windows and Linux systems engineering and administration.
  • Demonstrated experience cross-skilling and backfilling for teammates.
  • Demonstrated experience handling sensitive data, exercising discretion and sound judgment, and achieving mission outcomes.

Desired Skills (Optional)

  • Demonstrated experience with Sponsor’s security-controlled systems, software, and data architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience with Sponsor’s legacy and next-generation messaging systems, including system protocols and APIs, along with message formats and schemas.
  • Demonstrated experience with Sponsor’s Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes.
  • Demonstrated experience as a data transfer officer with Sponsor’s security-controlled systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with IT Program Management and support.
